It is not easy to overcome these roadblocks. Just getting an interview is a huge success. All anyone can do is persevere. For older workers it is a constant process of re-examination of every aspect of the job search. http://news.yahoo.com/exclusive-over-55-jobless-americans-face-tough-hunt-040846053.html

Retire Abroad? --- May 13 --- We continue to explore this avenue and think of both he costs and benefits, even as we seek job opportunities here in the US. Here is the latest offering for potential retirement: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/retire-pacific-1-200-per-161307841.html ---April 29--- Here are a couple pages that we enjoyed. Unfortunately, we've found that with the economic problems in France, that jobs are extremely hard to find and costs in most places run about the same as in the US. Our eyes light up at the possibilities of travel, but our pocketbook slams shut and advises us to seek elsewhere! Still, these are beautiful, historic sites we share with you. http://abbaye-beauport.com/

http://www.ville-treguier.fr/patrimoine-treguier/ ---April 28--- We have begun to consider this option. We've had a great time talking about the possibilities on the French coast. We would love to travel Europe. The only thing missing is great gobs of cash, or at least enough money to do something more, other than pay bills. However, we are discovering there are places in the world where the limited retirement funds available to us can go further than they do where we live, and just might provide some of the possibilities we dream about. Here is the most recent article we discovered. It provides a goodly number of links for exploration. We have been amused by the "sales" nature of most of the descriptions we've read. There does not seem to be a whole lot of description of the negative aspects of relocating. All in all, that is not really surprising. Some of the comments to articles have been very interesting. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/18-best-places-retire-overseas-200012124.htmlStrange Card Reader Services! --- May 13 --- This little screen show displays several unexpected ways people are providing ways to use credit cards. by jdb_educatorWhere the Wild Things are! --- May 12 --- This was too much fun to just ignore. But we had to wait for the weekend to watch it. The commentary about the pictures by Walken adds much fun and shows both the problems with reading stories aloud and the imaginative humor that can be added. In live readings we encourage the reader to ask the listener questions about the story and pictures. If the reader does that it becomes a unique experience full of sharing, and often laughter. We hope you'll take the time to watch this video. Two warnings: some of the pictures focusing on the words seem to lose clarity, and the use of the word bastard, does seem inappropriate for younger viewers. For us- definitely an older viewer- we enjoyed the presentation. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/maurice-sendak-where-wild-things-read-christopher-walken-212430177.html

by jdb_educatorMore Time Lapse Footage! --- May 12 --- There is such beauty in the world, that moments of viewing like this should be shared. Here is Yosemite in a range of light time lapse film with music. The video also includes some shots of the high sierras. The play of light and dark is stunning to watch. Our eyes kept straying up to the starry sky too. http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/yosemite-range-of-light-time-lapse/200lfn4w?q=Time-Lapse&rel=msn&from=en-us_msnhphero&form=MSNhro&overlaytype=multimediaviewer&name=hpvideo13&csid=ux-en-us&initialmoduleindex=1

by jdb_educatorHobbs Recruits Ghost Town! Hobbs is an unusual little city. As the latest city achievement to diversify the local economy, the city has won a contract to build a ghost town. This isn't your old west kind of project, it is a scientific research city to test out innovations and develop products, plans, and useful examples for the future. e have two sources for you as the news is now international. We have a story from yahoo and from Las Cruces. The local Hobbs News-Sun does not allow online use by non-subscribers. In the midst of heavy oil and gas development we are considered the "greenest" city in the State of New Mexico and possibly the US. We'll research that for a future story. http://news.yahoo.com/hobbs-nm-picked-scientific-ghost-town-172742847--finance.html http://www.lcsun-news.com/dona_ana_news/ci_20573725/hobbs-picked-site-scientific-ghost-town Who is behind this project?: http://www.pegasus-global.com/
A ONE BILLION DOLLAR PROJECT
by jdb_educatorCybertown Images Back --- May 16 --- All images and pages are inaccessible today ---May 10 - 15 --- No additional changes noted.
by jdb_educator
---May 9 --- Slight changes noticed, but no access to city or 2D/3D homes available
---May 3 - 8 --- No additional changes noted.
---May 2 --- We can all remain hopeful, because we are seeing efforts to get Cybertown working. Cybertown images and html pages returned on our online page checks at 5:50 PM last evening and this morning at 6:56 AM (EST). No 2d/3d yet to be found.
---May 1 --- Later in the day we noticed that images and some pages returned. Site loading is still partial today. While pictures load, our browser jumped from 18% to the page. Our browser stopped at 38% and 40%. At least we get "website found, waiting for reply." We are seeking to understand what might be happening. Hopefully the results are showing the techs useful information. Certainly it is a different problem than we have seen.
---April 30--- No additional changes noted.
---April 29--- Cybertown images and pages have reappeared, no 2d/3d homes or plazas available. This is very good news and shows that efforts are still underway to bring Cybertown back. We can only wish the techs on this project the best of luck as we wait.
---April 14 - 28 --- No change in Cybertown as far as we can tell, and no information available.
---April 13--- Has the site been pulled for more tech work? Did it crash due to tech work, or other reasons? Is it gone forever? We do not know. All that can be said is that as of 6:11 this morning, no images or pages popped up when they were clicked. Admittedly we only chose a select few to check, and have received no notices or news about what is happening, so our thoughts are pure speculation.Cybertown --- May 16 --- All images and pages are inaccessible today ---May 10 - 15 --- No additional changes noted.

---April 29 - 30--- Cybertown images and pages present, no 2d/3d homes or plazas available.
---April 14 - 28 --- Nothing new to report.
---April 13--- All that can be said is that as of 6:11 this morning, no images or pages popped up when they were clicked. Admittedly we only chose a select few to check, and have received no notices or news about what is happening.
---April 1 - 12 --- Nothing new to report.
---March 29 - 31--- No additional changes noted this morning during our daily check. We eagerly look forward to the next step in getting our city available.
---March 28--- Good Morning :) Good news indeed. Classify that under "better than no news!" Just before I went to bed last night at 9:59 PM MST (11:59 CyT) I discovered images were back. An email from ggb suggested he discovered that a little over an hour before I did. This morning I explored further. The html pages are viewable again. All the help sections I checked (Russian and Finnish) were working, just no access to the city itself or any of the 2D/3D houses . ---March 27--- Latest exploration noted a very minor change in loading. We've read through more than seven confirmations about the new inaccessibility. Stone_98 wrote back "From the appearance of the response, I'd say that the server that hosts the site is down right now. The DNS is resolving but there doesn't seem to be anything there to connect to. Hopefully it has been done on purpose so they can make whatever adjustments as quickly as possible." We didn't think of that possibility and did not realize the DNS was actually working. We will continue to follow this situation. We also know that citizens are frustrated and want CT back. We can only encourage patience and communication. Talk with your friends, reach out in email, phone, the net or anywhere you find them. It is the people and friendships that matter most.---March 25--- I booted up, grabbed my coffee, checked mail, scanned for news...Then clicked several browsers for Cybertown. The first thing I noticed was it was searching for the AT&T IP number. I asked myself what IS going on? It usually just pulls up the intro page and I see loading information. So I tried bing search. My AVG secure search seems to be taking over. I tried google search and it could not even present me a cached copy from March 22. Definitely weird. Pulling up the Alt News to check for images that did show yesterday and my html editor to write this article, I even see that all the Cybertown images the we use are gone. So now emails go out to verify it is not "just" my screwy computer or location. I even rebooted my computer to double check my results. We will report on those results tomorrow.
Facebook Administration Page ---March 29--- Many of our friends on facebook have accepted the new profile page. Our understanding is that everyone else will automatically be converted to it on March 31. Here is a story full of useful information on the new admin page that we will be using on FB.

http://news.yahoo.com/facebook-page-admin-panel-134625102.htmlSome Available Pages? ---March 13--- Cybertown is still basically unavailable. We think the login has been disabled. There is no error message for an incorrect login and any login kicks you back to the basic start page. We checked at about 7:30 AM CyT. We also spent well over an hour searching and looking for pages. We found some fun pages and memories for you to explore in and out of Cybertown. No login required. We won't burden you with a bunch of URLS here. We will just provide you four we discovered today.

No more changes found as of 8:30 AM March 13. Cybertown usability increased on March 8 at 10:25 PM CyT. CVN received several viewer reports and is continuing to investigate URLS. Error messages continue, but there is no email address for alerting the webmaster of details. We expect such reports at this time are not needed.
by jdb_educatorWe clicked on the usual URL and discovered images have returned and some pages are functioning. The Daily News has several pages-although most of the archives have been relocated. The login seems to kick you back to the sign in page without allowing further progress. However pages that are usually viewable outside of the city can now be accessed.
Our Archives!! ---March 9 2100 --- Our reported discovery of major CT changes on March 8 is renamed index-2-030812 http://cvnweekly.50megs.com/Cybertown/index-2-030812.html It was a rare second edition on that date.
by jdb_educator, CVNWe have been saving our previous days page by merely adding the month, day and year. So Each index page becomes index + date: http://cvnweekly.50megs.com/Cybertown/index030812.html and they go all the way back to http://cvnweekly.50megs.com/Cybertown/index010112 . Missing may be a few days when the Daily page was working in Cybertown.
What a World! We have been busy keeping the news going, creating a couple web pages, getting involved in party politics once again, working as a substitute teacher, and of course, spending way too much time playing games on Facebook.
